This track "Daddy Lessons" tributes the well deserved, Queen B, Beyonce. The original was performed during Beyonce's 2016 Country Music Association (CMA) Awards with the Chicks. The performance was met with swift backlash and exposed the deep divides that still persist in the country music industry.

During the live performance, racist remarks were yelled including "Get that Black bi**h off the stage" and F**K Beyonce.

After the performance, hateful racist comments flooded every social media account controlled by the Country Music Association. In order to hide the comments of the racist CMA audience, instead of disassociating themselves with these individuals, the CMA's responded by taking down Beyonce's performance video. The CMA's received so much backlash for the decision to remove the performance video from its sites, they put it back up 24 hours later.

Beyonce Quotes:

"I did not feel welcomed ... and it was very clear that I wasn't, But, because of that experience, I did a deeper dive into the history of Country music and studied our rich musical archive, ... The criticisms I faced when I first entered this genre forced me to propel past the limitations that were put on me.”

As a Black woman reclaiming country music, she stands in opposition to stereotypical associations of the genre with whiteness. Beyonce's new and debut 2024 country album “Cowboy Carter” was a direct result of the "Daddy Lessons performance at the CMA's.

And for all your efforts Beyonce, here is a tribute to you, the only way we know how, reggae style.
